So folks, what's the next political office move for City councilman Matthew Harper ?

A bid for Mayor of Huntington Beach ?
That's anyone's guess ( and perish the thought ! ),
as the saying goes, but the real question should be :

What will his ongoing legacy be as the years
and politicians come and go ?

Will it be, as it has been developing over the
years for many a Republican politician in California,
a legacy of do nothing and  let illegal aliens rampantly
abuse the California system ?

Sure looks that way, given that in the past Harper
has applauded the erroneous view that ' Immigration
is a Federal issue, not a state issue '.

Just say NO. Don't vote Harper.

Huntington Beach Republican Matthew Harper - After only one year as Huntington Beach City Councilman, in 2012 Matthew Harper runs for Calif. assembly, then bugs out ...

Matthew Harper ran for the City Council in 2010 while a
seated as member of the Huntington Beach school board.
After only one year as Huntington Beach City Councilman,
Matthew Harper ran for Calif. assembly in the 2012 primary,
then bugged out of the race.

Why ? Lack of support ? Did the people see through
something here ? Did Harper intend  to only use his
2010 City Council seat win to advance a  political
ambition, after only one year on the job  ?  Drop a
first four year city council term because a Republican
California assembly legislature seat is open ?
Hmmmm .... one has to wonder.

According to the Huntington Beach city clerk's office,
an early election for that city seat could cost the city
dollars to hold a new election for a vacated City Council
seat had Harper won the State assembly election in
Nov. 2012.

It looks like the voter support was scant for a Harper
race for the State Assembly. Why else would Harper
drop out in the primary ? Legitimate question !

How bout' those Young Republicans !

After all, Harper was elected to the Huntington Beach
school board in 1998 at a sprite young age of 24 ! He's
known among his former colleagues on the school board
as being, well,  simply ' Mr. NO ' to most every school
board proposal ever to come across the school board,
this according to school board member.

According to the school board member, she was not
happy when Mr. Harper jumped into the new Ocean
View High School swimming pool  celebrating it's opening
because Mr. Harper voted against building the pool in the
first place.

Maybe Harper could propose to the Huntington Beach
City Council a sweeping measure to that all city School
pools are open free to illegal aliens to use. After all, it was
Mr. Harper who himself attended a 1998 education
meeting led by State officials guests, a meeting open to
the public. A citizen came to the microphone to
make a comment about the detrimental effects of illegal
alienism on California schools and asked what the
officials planned to do about it. School board member
Matthew Harper applauded State assemblyman
Ken Maddox's remark to the citizen saying that illegal
immigration is a Federal, not a state matter, thus
completely brushing aside the issue.
