Harper wins by low voter turnout. That's hilarious possibility in light
of the fact that it could turn out to be one the highest paying BORING
elected positions (next to the pay ofSenator or Governor). Why, you
may ask, "Hoooow cooooould that beeeee sir Bloggeau?! How darest
you insulteth the sacred scene of the O.C. Republican dominion !"
I love the O.C. Republican dominion too, and hope it grows and expands
year after yearand all up and down California. Now is it not also true that
Harper obtained his resume of local elected positions -Huntington school
board, to Huntington City Council, to Huntington Mayor- all on the coat tails
of the endorsements (year after year) from Congressman Daddy Dana
Warbucks Rohrabacher? Love that Congressman Dana, one of the best
ever. But Harper, well he's another story as you can see from this blog.
Let me put on my Alferd Hitchcock single eye spectacle lens on string,
held by my brow and cheek bone while answering the hypothetical
questione' "Hoooow cooooould that beeeee sir Bloggeau?! How darest
you insulteth the sacred scene of the O.C. Republican dominion !"
So here's the answer, but with a question:
What pray thee, shall Matthew Harper accomplish with all those
Democrat commies in the majority Senate and assembly?
Young Kim and Janey Nguyen's 2014 win ! Yes !
Get this. It's far from a Republican mountain quest win to the the top
of the summit Republicans in last year's Nov. election for state offices.
All Tea Party Conservatives MUCH appreciate the Young Kim for Assembly and
Janet Nguyen Senate win, and Whooooo hooooo ! God bless
those awesome girls, YEEEEEES! A big thanks to Calif. Republican
Chairman Jim Brulte's effort and strategy. Their victories prevented a
super majority Democrats developing, which would have given Democrat
in the legislature and CA Gov. Commie bud Jerry Browne' high hell
Carte' Blanche' to tax California's paychecks down to nothing.
But Matthew Harper's win against Kevin Curry? What did that produce?
A whole lot of ZERO ! One may ask: Why is that? A simple examination
produces the fact that the 74 th Assembly seat Harper won was already
occupied by a 2014 termed out Republican incumbent. In other words,
same is as same is. Nothing gained, nothing lost. Contrast the latter with
Young Kim and Janet Nguyen's victories: They worked hard and BOTH won
against Democrat incumbents. In other words, they earned what they won.
Contrast this to Harper's years long dependency on the honorable
Congressman Dan Rohrabacher to endorse Harper year after year for
every office Harper ever ran for - NOTE: in Dan Rohrabacher's
Congressional district year after year.
Think about this: Young Kim and Janey Nguyen terms boring? Hardly !
Both of these fine ladies campaign on a litany of great issues, and
fought hard on them during their campaigns. Expect the same from
them while in office
Vote Dave Sullivan,Erik Peterson, Mike Posey, and Barbara Delgleize for HBCity Council 2016 ... Issues matter at the local level ... This is where we grow our communities ... Grow a great garden by keeping the weeds out ... You are visiting a Tea Party Conservative website. Vote Smart ! http://dontvotematthewharper.blogspot.com

Mayor Harper has been in public office in Huntington Beach since 1998, as many have. Has he figured out the culprit yet? If not, why not? On April 17, 2014, CBS reported 3rd cyclist killed in Huntington Beach in 4 months. WHY is it happening? Speed limits too high in Huntington?
Why are speed limits still so high in Huntington Beach after all these years?
Mayor Matthew Harper had been a Huntington Beach city council member
since 2010 and Huntington resident for many years, like many others, and in
public office since 1998. Has he figured out the major culprit yet? On
April 17, 2014, CBS reported 3rd cyclist killed in Huntington Beach in 4
months. WHY is it happening?
Suggestion for the possible answer:
Speed limits too high in Huntington Beach ! If this blogger can see it, why
do public officials seem to not do enough about it? In a bicycle lane
city like Huntington Beach?
Do they see it, and what are they doing about it to lower the speed limits?
What has Harper (or anyone in public office) done about it, if anything?
Anyone who has driven in Huntington knows that the speed limit is
TOO HIGH on many streets, even in school areas and on many of the main streets that
run through Huntington east of Beach blvd. such as:
1) The intersection Bushard and Indianapolis Ave., where
accidents have regularly occurred.
2) Bushard St.
3) Newland St.
4) Atlantic Ave.
5) Magnolia Ave.
6) PCH
7) Gothard East of Beach Blvd.
8) Garfield Ave. East of Beach Blvd.
9) Adams Ave. East of Beach Blvd.
10) Brookhurst Ave.
11) Beach Blvd. ( 50 mph between
Gothard and PCH!)
Surely there are more that others can think of.

Don't vote Matthew Harper 74 th Assembly 2014- A story related to the author of this post by Matthew Harper's fellow Huntington Beach school board member: Matthew Harper voted down the swimming pool for Ocean View High School, when pool is finally built and opens, others jump in the pool to celebrate, Harper also jumps in pool and splashes around after it's built ...

member, Matthew Harper voted NO the swimming pool for
Ocean View High School, and when it was finally built and opened,

In fact this fellow school board member mentioned that Harper's
record was to always say no to everything the board had to vote
on. Reasonable and prudent ? Hmmm ...
Schools do have their reasonable need.
Also Huntington beach teacher's PAC staff complained to the author
of this post that Harper was still living at home, not on his own,
when Harper was a school board member.

Is Huntington Beach Mayor Matthew Harper a RINO? Ask the mayor to prove he's not : Call for a vote for SEC 133, SECTION 287 of the llegal Immigration Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996 ...
' Go Tea Party USA ' calls on new Republican Huntington Beach
Mayor Matthew Harper to push for, and call for a
vote by the Huntington Beach City council for implementation
by the city of SEC 133, SECTION 287 of the Illegal Immigration
Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
Immigration is NOT just a Federal issue !
SEC 133, Section 287 allows every city government -
includes Mayor and city council, including newly appointed
( not voted in by the voter but appointed ) Matthew Harper
to enforce SEC 133,Section 287of the Illegal Immigration
Reform and Immigrant Responsibility Act of 1996.
This allows mayors and city councils of every city to take a
council vote to implement section 287, which when voted for,
implements their law enforcement departments to check the
legal status of those stopped for traffic violations and suspected
crimes. Once found in illegal alien status the police arrest and
send them to jail for deportation. SEC 133,Section 287 allows
INS presence in jails for the deportation from city jails of
arrested illegal aliens by city police for being of illegal alien
status.
With Mr. Harper's study and work background in public
policy, does he have any excuse not to push for a vote by
the City council to implement SEC 133, section 287 ?
Let's see if Matthew Harper is really :
1) For the well being of citizens,
2) A real Republican
3) An upholder of justice AND
NOT a :
1) Political schmoozer.
2) Career politician in for :
- The money at your expense.
- Accolades at your expense.
- Perks at your expense.
3) Pleaser of Liberals/ Democrats/
and RINOs ( Republican In Name Only )
at your expense.
( Is Harper actually of any in #3 ?
When then Huntington Beach School board member
Mathew Harper ( Now Mayor of Huntington Beach )
applauded the Republican assemblyman at the public
education meeting in 1999 for saying," Immigration is a
Federal issue ...", both were sitting elected Republican
people.
The above SEC 133. SEC 287 of Illegal

States ( and cities ) Can and Must Help Enforce Federal Immigration Law
Promises Made, Action Delayed ,
Prepared by the Federation for American Immigration Reform -
Recently, Congress has enacted laws designed to re-enlist the states in the battle against illegal immigration. The solution to illegal immigration reform requires the cooperation of all levels of government. Unfortunately, some existing provisions have not been implemented to facilitate a cooperative web of local, state, and federal enforcement vital to regaining control of our nation's borders.
Local Law Enforcement Cooperation State and local law enforcement agencies can work with the Immigration and Naturalization Service to enforce immigration law. Section 133 of the 1996 immigration reform bill passed into law (Pub.L. No. 104-208) created a unique network of cooperation in the enforcement of immigration law. For the first time, state and local law enforcement agencies had the ability to work in partnership with the Immigration and Naturalization Service (INS) to enforce immigration law. Section 133 provides a legal mechanism to implement the necessary cooperation between all levels of government to stop illegal immigration.
Specifically, Section 133 authorizes the U.S. Attorney General to train local police departments to identify and detain suspected illegal aliens. Although the Department of Justice has thus far taken little action in implementing even a pilot project under this authority, there is great potential for this project. City Councils should request to be a part of the program and have their law enforcement personnel trained so that they can arrest illegal aliens.
Government Employees Share Information with the INS
No longer can a state or local government prohibit its employees from sharing important information about illegal aliens with the INS. Section 642 of the 1996 immigration reform bill and Section 424 of the 1996 welfare reform bill (Pub. L. No. 104-193) protect the ability of employees of state and local governments to share information with the INS "regarding the citizenship or immigration status, lawful or unlawful, of any individual." This would in effect eliminate sanctuary cities and in theory should strike down any orders or local laws that prohibit local government officials from sharing information with the INS. Instead of welcoming the opportunity to help enforce our nation's immigration laws, some elected officials have fought them.
For example, New York City Mayor Rudy Guiliani sued the federal government, claiming that these provisions were unconstitutional. The Supreme Court rejected his claim and stated that these provisions "direct only that City officials and agencies be allowed, if they so choose, to share information with federal authorities . . . They only prevent the City from interfering with a voluntary exchange of information."
For the first time, welfare benefit providers, people tracking down "deadbeat dads," motor vehicle personnel, and countless other government officials can turn in illegal immigrants to the INS. This could be a valuable asset for the INS, but only if public employees are aware of their ability to do so. If state governments or agencies fail to notify their employees of this change, there is little probability that the employees will be aware of their new ability to help end illegal immigration.
States Can Require Proof of Identity
The 1996 immigration reform bill also authorized states to require that an applicant for state or government benefits show proof of eligibility, such as a U.S. passport, drivers' license, or resident alien card. Sheltering Illegal Aliens is a Felony Current law makes it a felony to aid, abet, conceal, or induce an alien to enter and/or reside in the United States illegally. And yet some actions by state government officials flirt with undermining existing federal immigration law.
( continued below , Section 287 of the Immigration Reform Act : If citizens successful to persuade any City Council vote yes, Police authorized check legal status of arrestees, then send illegals to deport... )
Section 287 (8 U.S.C. 1357) is amended by adding at the end the following:
''(g)(1) Notwithstanding section 1342 of title 31, United States Code, the Attorney General may enter into a written agreement with a State, or any political subdivision of a State, pursuant to which an officer or employee of the State or subdivision, who is determined by the Attorney General to be qualified to perform a function of an immigration officer in relation to the investigation, apprehension, or detention of aliens in the United States (including the transportation of such aliens across State lines to detention centers), may carry out such function at the expense of the State or political sub-division and to the extent consistent with State and local law.

councilman Matthew Harper still want to
be Mayor of Huntington Beach? A bad
choice for voters if so.
News: Illegal aliens to be given driver's licenses
by Calf. Governor Jerry Brown signing the bill
in the fall of 2013 .... thanks to people like
Matthew Harper, who clapped during an
education meeting in 2000 when a California
assemblyman Ken Maddox said immigration
is a federal issue.
Mr. Maddox was responding to a citizen who
came to the public podium to ask what Ken Maddox
and the other guest State officials in the meeting's
attendance were going to do about the illegal alien
problem in California.
In 2014, don't vote Matthew Harper for public office !

So folks, what's the next political office move for City councilman Matthew Harper ?
A bid for Mayor of Huntington Beach ?
That's anyone's guess ( and perish the thought ! ),
as the saying goes, but the real question should be :
What will his ongoing legacy be as the years
and politicians come and go ?
Will it be, as it has been developing over the
years for many a Republican politician in California,
a legacy of do nothing and let illegal aliens rampantly
abuse the California system ?
Sure looks that way, given that in the past Harper
has applauded the erroneous view that ' Immigration
is a Federal issue, not a state issue '.
Just say NO. Don't vote Harper.
